Game Recap - Chattanooga FC June 28
It was the final home game of the season for the Emerald Force women's team, but it did not turn out the way that they had hoped it would. Many careless and sloppy plays by the Force gave Chattanooga plenty of opportunities to score. Chattanooga capitalized on these chances and cruised to a 5-1 win over the Force.
Chattanooga started rolling early as they connected with the back of the net three times in the first 25 minutes of the match. They got a couple of easy goals in 7th, 16th, and 22nd minutes of the game and rode a comfortable 3-0 lead going into halftime.
However, they did not sit back and relax with this lead, but instead came out firing on all cylinders. Just minutes after the start of the second half in the 47th minute, Chattanooga put on the pressure offensively and got one more past the Emerald keeper. Not even seconds later, Chattanooga came right back at the Emerald defense and got their fifth and final goal of the game.
The Force could not seem to get things going on either side of the ball the entire night. Finally, Magda Mosengo was able to get a goal for the Force in the 79th minute, but it was just not enough.
The Emerald Force women's team will close out their season on Saturday when they travel to Nashville to face the Nashville Rhythm. That game will take place at Father Ryan High School at 7:00pm, June 30.
