Game Recap - Inter Nashville FC May 26, 2018
Although it was a rainy night in Knoxville, Tennessee, Inter Nashville FC was able to grab a 2-1 victory on the road over the Emerald Force. The Force played a great first half with consistent defense and constant offensive pressure which allowed them to go into the half with a 1-0 lead. However, Inter Nashville was able to respond in the second half and take advantage of sloppy play by the Force. They were able to find the back of the net twice in the second half and will head back to Nashville with a 2-1 victory over the Force.
Marty Baker had a stellar performance early on making a couple of great saves in the first half. His energy and performance was contagious as the Force possessed the ball well and continually attacked Inter Nashville's defense. After almost the entire first half had been played, Alexander Garuba finally put one in the net in the 42nd minute giving the Force a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Despite the great first half play of the Force, the second half turned out to be a different story. Inter Nashville was able to answer with a goal of their own in the 62nd minute. The goal came off of a corner kick that was played into the box and fumbled around by the Force. Inter Nashville did not waste much time in scoring their second goal of the night in the 72nd minute of the contest.
The Force were not able to get another goal despite a couple of hard fought attacks and fall to Inter Nashville FC 2-1. The Emerald Force seek their first win at home as they take on Chattanooga FC at the Sansom Sports Complex at 7:00pm next Wednesday May 30, 2018.
