Game Recap - New Orleans Jesters June 6
It was a gorgeous night for soccer tonight at the Sansom Sports Complex in downtown Knoxville, Tennessee. The Emerald Force took advantage of optimal playing conditions and secured a 1-0 victory over the New Orleans Jesters.
This game was a back and forth game as both teams were attacking offensively and locking up defensively. However, as the game progressed, the momentum began to shift to the Force. Emerald began to keep possession of the ball more and have attacks on goal frequently throughout the second half of play.
Both the Force and the Jesters remained scoreless for the majority of the game but the Force were the first to strike as Alexander Garuba connected with the back of the net off of a free kick in the 78th minute.
The Force held this lead throughout the rest of the game and found themselves grabbing a 1-0 win over the Jesters. A big reason for this win over New Orleans was due to the phenomenal play of goalkeeper Ryan Coulter. Coulter made several crucial saves late in the second half which led to 1-0 shutout.
The Emerald Force will be back at the Sansom Sports Complex this Saturday to take on the Asheville City Soccer Club at 7:00pm.
Tickets for home games are available for purchase at the door 90 minutes before match time. Admission: adult - $5, child - $3, children ages 8 and under - free.
